Honouring and remembering our loved ones well, honestly and joyfully

Over the past weeks, the British public has expressed an outpouring of love following the passing of actress Helen McCrory. Whilst she was best known for her roles in Peaky Blinders and Harry Potter, her husband, Damian Lewis has given a beautiful insight into Helen’s life and her intention to always ‘choose happiness’.

Seeing people in the media like Lewis normalising death and grief is so powerful, since to be able to normalise it, is to be able to celebrate someone’s life. He says that whilst she was an amazing person, her greatest deed was to normalise her own death and urge those around her to keep living even after she is gone. And in this way, Helen’s family, friends, and all those who were touched by her life and work are now able to remember, memorialise and celebrate the life she lived.
